Good morning, everyone. Today, I want us to look at a powerful story from the book of Joshua, found in Joshua 6:1–5. Our message is titled “Destroying the Walls of Jericho.”

The people of Israel had reached a place called Jericho. Jericho was strongly protected. The city was shut up because of the Israelites and no one was going in or coming out. Humanly speaking, it looked impossible to conquer.

But God had already given Joshua a promise. He said, in essence, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand.” Notice that God spoke about the victory before Joshua could see it. The walls were still standing, the gates were still closed, but God had already declared the outcome.

This teaches us an important lesson: what looks impossible to us is not impossible for God.

Sometimes we also face walls in our lives. There may be walls of fear, discouragement, financial difficulties, broken relationships, disappointment, temptation or situations that seem to have no solution. Like Jericho, these walls can appear too strong for us to overcome.

But God told Joshua exactly what to do. The Israelites were to march around the city once for six days. On the seventh day, they were to march around it seven times. Then the priests would blow the trumpets, and when the people heard the sound, they were to shout. God promised that the walls would fall down.

Think about this: God did not ask Joshua to attack the walls with weapons. He asked him to trust and obey.

Sometimes we want God to explain everything before we obey Him. But faith means trusting God even when we do not understand His method. Joshua could have asked, “Lord, how can walking around a wall make it fall?” But he chose obedience.

The victory at Jericho reminds us that obedience opens the way for God's power to work. Joshua and the Israelites followed God's instructions, and at the appointed time, the walls came down.

Maybe there is a wall standing in your life today. Do not give up simply because you cannot see how it will fall. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep obeying God's Word. Keep walking in faith.

Remember, the Israelites did not destroy Jericho by their own strength. God gave them the victory.

So today, let us trust God with our walls. Let us surrender our impossible situations to Him and believe that He is able to do what we cannot do.

The walls may be high, but our God is higher. The problem may be great, but our God is greater. The way may seem impossible but nothing is impossible with God.

Therefore, keep walking, keep trusting, keep obeying and keep believing. At God's appointed time, the walls will come down.
