SPEAKING WITH BOLDNESS

Speaking with boldness is not about shouting the loudest or always being right—it is about speaking the truth with courage, clarity, and confidence, even in the face of fear or opposition. Boldness is a quality that God gives to His children when they stand for what is right, speak truth in love, and trust in His strength rather than their own.

The early Christians are a perfect example of this boldness. After the resurrection of Jesus, Peter and John spoke boldly about Him, even when they were warned not to. In Acts 4:13, it says, “When they saw the boldness of Peter and John... they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” Their courage came not from their education or status, but from their relationship with Christ.

Boldness is not recklessness. It’s not about being rude or aggressive. It’s about standing firm in truth, even when it's uncomfortable. In Proverbs 28:1, the Bible says, “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” This means that when we live righteously and stay close to God, we can speak with courage, knowing that God is on our side.

Sometimes, we fear what others might say or think. But God has not called us to live in fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” When we trust in Him, we can speak with boldness, even when it's hard.

Jesus Himself spoke with boldness. He challenged religious leaders, spoke to crowds, and shared the truth of God’s kingdom, even when it led to His death. He did not hold back the truth, even when it offended some people. In John 7:26, the people were amazed and said, “Look, He is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to Him!” Jesus is our example of speaking truth without fear.

As believers, we are called to be bold witnesses for Christ. That means sharing the gospel, defending what is right, and encouraging others with the truth of God’s Word. Sometimes, this may cost us—friendships, opportunities, or even safety—but God promises to be with us. In Ephesians 6:19, Paul asks for prayer, saying, “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.”

To speak with boldness, we need the Holy Spirit. In Acts 4:31, it says, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” We cannot do it alone. We need God's Spirit to fill us, guide us, and give us the strength to speak when it’s easier to stay silent.

In conclusion, speaking with boldness means trusting God enough to open your mouth and speak the truth, even when it’s risky. Let us pray for courage and be ready to speak with boldness wherever God places us.
