We often live by the clock — appointments, alarms, deadlines, and schedules. But God does not operate by our time. His timing is not only different from ours — it is perfect. While we may feel He’s late or moving too slowly, the truth is: God is never behind and never ahead. He’s always right on time.
Waiting on God can be difficult. Whether it's for healing, a breakthrough, a job, or an answer to prayer, we can grow weary and impatient. But Scripture reminds us that God sees the whole picture, and His timing is based on what is best for us — not just what we want in the moment.
In Isaiah 60:22, God says: “When the time is right, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” This means there is an appointed time for everything He has planned. You may not understand the delay, but behind the scenes, God is aligning things for your good and His glory.
Think about Joseph in the Old Testament. He was given dreams of greatness but was sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. For 13 years, it seemed like nothing was happening. But at the right time, God raised him up to be second-in-command in Egypt (Genesis 41). If Joseph had risen too early, he wouldn't have been prepared. The waiting refined his character and prepared him for his purpose.
In the New Testament, Galatians 4:4 says, “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son...” Even the birth of Jesus happened at the perfect moment in history — not too soon and not too late. God's redemptive plan unfolded exactly on schedule.
We must remember that God is never in a hurry, but He is never slow either. His delays are often part of His design — shaping our hearts, testing our faith, and drawing us closer to Him. He wants us to trust Him, not just with what we need, but with when we receive it.
Psalm 27:14 encourages us: “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Waiting is not wasted time. It is often when God does His deepest work in us.
So if you're in a season of waiting, don’t lose hope. Trust in God’s character. He is faithful, loving, and wise. He has not forgotten you. His timing is perfect — and when it happens, it will be beautiful.
