Life often brings us to places where there seems to be no way forward. We face closed doors, dry seasons and paths that appear blocked by difficulty, disappointment or defeat. It’s in these moments that God reminds us of His power and His promise: He will make a way.
The children of Israel experienced this truth when they stood before the Red Sea, with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them. There was no road, no bridge, and no escape. But God told Moses to stretch out his hand, and the sea parted. What seemed impossible became a pathway. God made a way.
Isaiah 43:19 is a powerful reminder that God is not limited by human circumstances. He can create a way even in the wilderness a place of isolation, confusion, and dryness. He can bring forth streams in the wasteland times in our lives when everything feels barren and hopeless. God is a way-maker, and nothing is too hard for Him.
Sometimes the way He makes is not the way we expected. We might be waiting for a solution to come from one direction, but God surprises us with provision from another. When Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, he didn’t see the ram caught in the thicket yet God had already provided. God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His timing is perfect.
But it takes faith to walk the path God lays out. When the road ahead is unfamiliar or uncomfortable, we must choose to trust His voice rather than our own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. In all our ways, we are to acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths.
Even when you feel stuck, God is still working. You may not see it, but He is clearing obstacles, shifting circumstances, and opening doors in places you never imagined. He doesn’t just make a way He is the Way. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” When you follow Him, you’ll always be on the right path.
Don’t give up when the situation looks impossible. Don’t lose hope when the season feels long. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep walking by faith. The God who made a way through the Red Sea, who opened prison doors for Paul and Silas, and who rolled away the stone from the tomb is the same God who walks with you today.
